Setting Up For Business Cards
Follow these simple rules and one can create a business card in minutes. Select is used as an option on the top menu bar.
When using Microsoft Power Point. Power Point is the least confusing package to use.
With a new blank page showing, Select-File-Page Setup.
With On-screen Show set width to 9.1 cm Height, 5.5 cm for landscape or 5.5 cm width, 9.1 cm height for portrait. This will change to Custom. Remember to allow a 2 mm boarder all around the image.

You have now have set up the card size.

Next if you require a logo or picture, make sure you already have it on your computer. To insert logo Select Insert-Picture-From File (or Clip Art) and insert image.
Next inserting text. Use Select-Insert-Text Box method for text, you can use more then one Text Box. If you use a non standard font, you will need to send the font with the art work. Some times when using Text Boxes the box has an outline around it. Simply click box once then select Format-Text Box. Here you can turn off Colours and Lines if required.
Repeat the above if printing on the back is required.

You have now completed your Business Card.
You are now ready to e-mail the file.

 

When using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works and any other word processor software.
With a new blank page showing, Select-File-Page Setup.
In the Margins Tab Set all margins to .2cm or 2mm, choose landscape or portrait. Set headers and footers (if option) to 0.
In Paper or Size Tab set width to 9.1 cm Height, 5.5 cm for landscape or 5.5 cm width, 9.1 cm height for portrait.
Ignore error message ref to one or more margins are set out of printable area. Your printer is not the printer being used.

You have now have set up the card size and printing area.

Next if you require a logo or picture, make sure you already have it on your computer. To insert logo Select Insert-Picture-From File (or Clip Art) and insert image. Use the space bar and Enter Keys to position the image.
Or better still, Select-Insert-Text Box first then highlight the text box by one click on it with the mouse then go to Select-Insert-Picture-From File (or Clip Art) and insert the image into the Text Box. This will make it easier to reposition the logo more accurately on the Card.
